Description:
From the Edo period through the Meiji and Taisho eras, various model books were essential design and construction manuals for many carpenters. This book carefully deciphers the difficult-to-understand wording of the time and illustrates it with drawings to make it applicable to modern carpentry. This "must-have book" establishes the basics of shrine architecture and allows for a wide range of applications, from small shrine pavilions to magnificent five-bay main halls and worship halls.

Table of Contents:
1. Torii Gates / Four-Legged Torii Gates
2. One-Bay, Facing-Style Shrine
3. One-Bay, Flowing-Style Shrine
4. Two-Bay Shrine
5. Three-Bay Shrine
6. Five-Bay Shrine
7. Worship Hall
