BORG Mini Borg 45EDII with Pentax F AF Adapter 1.7X

This is a system I used to love as a lightweight telephoto lens.

The lens barrel is from a Tokina AF 100-300mm F4 zoom lens, with the lens elements removed, and the zoom ring used as a focusing helicoid.

I never used it because the lens is already dark, but the aperture function of the Tokina lens can also be used.

The 45EDII has a specification of 325mm f7.2. With a 1.7x AF adapter, it becomes an 800mm lightweight (approx. 717g) super-telephoto lens on an APS-C camera.

The AF adapter doesn't function properly unless the lens is bright, so I simply used it as a close-up lens. Without the AF adapter, it becomes even lighter at approximately 575g, and I used to carry it without the AF adapter to photograph birds and animals while hiking.

I've removed it now, but I used to wrap a camouflage band around it, so there are tape marks from that. There is also a dent on the tip of the hood, but I don't think it affects the image quality.

This lens is touted by the manufacturer as "a representative model of the miniBorg, rumored to be a legendary lens due to its incredible sharpness." I think it's a rare item to find used, so if you are looking for a lightweight and sharp telephoto lens, especially in Pentax mount, please consider getting it at this opportunity.
